Based in the San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles, California, Kindred Spirits Book Club formed in 1998. This diverse and dynamic group of African American women meets January through November on the third Sunday of each month to discuss a variety of literary works with a focus on Black authors. Mission Statement

 

The purpose of Kindred Spirits Book Club is to:

  • Promote "culturally focused" books written by black authors.
  • Foster friendship and sisterhood between our members.
  • Promote sisterhood by networking with other book clubs.
  • Encourage reading throughout the community by hosting, supporting and attending literary events.
